Carrefour to Debut in India

India, as being part of the BRIC, is an important emerging country, which makes it a strategic spot. this is the case of some small and big companies, such as Carrefour, Wal-Mart and the britains Tesco.

The giant Carrefour is closing a deal with the Indian Future group, in which it would be possible for Carrefour to open 150 hypermarkets in the next five years, in other words it would be its partner.

Kishore Biyanis Future Group, is the largest Indian retail chain with outlets such as big bazaar and pantaloons. the association with a local partner was a necessary step to enter the Indian market, that used to be closed.

The process of mergers and acquisitions has gained substantial importance in today's corporate world.

In the case of the India, the government bodies, has payed more attention to mergers and acquisitions, by adopting mergers and acquisitions policies.

the increased competition in the global market has prompted the Indian companies to go for mergers and acquisitions as an important strategic choice.

this agreement may be asumed as a merging, because none of the companies bought is partner, but they agreed a deal to work together as one company.
