THE CORPORATION

In my opinion, corporations shouldn't have the same legal rights as a person just because they are NOT persons. Corporations have no feelings, no ability to feel guilt, no desires, no thoughts. Even though each corporation has its own philosophy, and this is often compared to a person's personality, I don't think it should be that way because this philosophy is not based on thoughts that are governed by feelings and common sense as happens with people. In human nature it is not considered normal that men hurt o damage another human being, but corporations have no concern for human wellnes, this is one of the main reasons why I think they souldn't have the same rights. I think corporations should be punished a little harder for their actions because they do it deliberately, which is not always the case of human beings, because we have to take into account social, mental, economical and physical conditions that affect human mind.

It is very difficult to ensure that companies take responsibility for their actions, I believe this has to be controlled by the government and different organisations like labor unions, consumer associations, ONGs, only to mention some of them.

I do believe that individuals should bear responsibility for the companies' actions, because at the end of the day, companies are managed by individuals, and if any mistake is made, there should be an investigation to find out the degree of resposibility individuals like directors may have, because sometimes they act in bad faith and they're protected by the law.

To me, one of the best benefits of the corporate form is that each stockholder is responsible only for his part of the company, this means that he can't be held for the company's debts, his liability to loss depends on the investment he has already made. In the corporate form it is also easier to accumulate capital, it survives the death of a partner and financial responsibility is diffused. The two main rivals of the corporate form are the enterprise and the partnership but the corporation has some advantages over its rivals that I have already mentioned. In an enterprise, a single enterpriser must asume all of the financial risks of its bussiness; in a partnership, there are mani financial responsibilities that not many people want to assume because they can't always take care of their own affairs, another disadvantage is that a partnership is disolved if one of the partners die.

IOM,women migrant workers "Colombia"

Migration has been a problem since la ot of time ago, it's defined as the displacement of population, and it is produced from a place of origin to another destination, and also involves an affectation on the level of a person`s life and family environment and a perception that to settle elsewhere will increase their economical prospects.
the most remarkable migration from the 19th century until the present is the massive displacement of population from rural to urban areas.

There are some Bodies of migration, as the UN, IOM- OIM, and the United Nation, and the embassies and consulates.

The IOM is a technical intergovernmental organism, that has been operating in Colombia for 52 years, which captates resources all over the world and simoultaneously movilizes technical resources, which are displayed in the support, development and execution of social projects.

One of the most important things why the IOM stands out is because it has actively participated in the humanitary refom, along with the permanent inter-agential comitee IASC, and it is an important part of United Nations' system for development.

Since 2000, the IOM has provided assistance through its programmes, to more than 2 million people, including internally displaced persons, host communities, Colombians seeking protection across international borders, victims of natural disasters, ex-combatant minors, adults demobilized from ilegal armed groups, victims of trafficking, labour migrants, as well as Colombian authorities who have participated in IOM's trainings.

The IOM recognizes the social inequalities between men and women, this is why one of their axes is focused in eliminating these differences, specifically violence towards women. They have created the Integral Programme Against Gender Violence, which contributes to prevention, attention and eradication of gender-based violence, icluding sexual, familiar and workplace violence. Through this programme, along with programmes such as Assistance For Displaced Persons And Vulnerable Population and the Social Marketing Strategy, they aim to promote democratic initiatives that improve the acces and joy of the benefits of development women have, through the promotion of gender equality and women's autonomy, increasing the marketing potential of displaced people, specially women.

An example of this is the support the IOM has been giving to the women of Luz y Vida association, who are making a living packing sacks of coffe, processed by Procafecol, owners of Juan Valdez Café.

Carrefour to Debut in India

India, as being part of the BRIC, is an important emerging country, which makes it a strategic spot. this is the case of some small and big companies, such as Carrefour, Wal-Mart and the britains Tesco.

The giant Carrefour is closing a deal with the Indian Future group, in which it would be possible for Carrefour to open 150 hypermarkets in the next five years, in other words it would be its partner.

Kishore Biyanis Future Group, is the largest Indian retail chain with outlets such as big bazaar and pantaloons. the association with a local partner was a necessary step to enter the Indian market, that used to be closed.

The process of mergers and acquisitions has gained substantial importance in today's corporate world.

In the case of the India, the government bodies, has payed more attention to mergers and acquisitions, by adopting mergers and acquisitions policies.

the increased competition in the global market has prompted the Indian companies to go for mergers and acquisitions as an important strategic choice.

this agreement may be asumed as a merging, because none of the companies bought is partner, but they agreed a deal to work together as one company.
